In the center of the universe
is an enormous emptiness
that's teaching us something
about ourselves.
Early summer,
the whole neighborhood smells
like sperm. The birds just sound pitiful.
The appearance of white,
angelic women
pushing baby carriages
is a sign from Heaven
and if you only had a machine
you could find it for yourself.

And now I'm in bed
and my stomach aches
because I ate too much.
We had one for the the road
and it was late.
